Rootstock Geneva 202

Yorkshire Apples

In the 1970s Cornell University in USA started a breeding programme to improve resistances to pests and diseases in rootstocks. These rootstocks are the Geneva Rootstocks. One of their new rootstocks is G202.  This is an important development in that it is equivalent in size and vigour to M26 but has the added benefits of being resistant to woolly aphid, fire blight and is tolerant of root and crown rot.
